Day 17: Wednesday 13 Feb 2008

The three large tree on the right of this photo are on the cliff face and are going. The three smaller trees in the centre are not on the cliff face, they are in someone's back garden, something I hadn't realized until now.
An other tree that used to look like it was part of Rock Wall but also turns out to be in a garden and isn't going.
Meanwhile work continues clearing the scrub, some of it pretty big lumps of scrub. This was over 10 feet high and 15 feet across.

Meanwhile a couple of before and after pictures.

I would just like to say how impressed my husband and i were with the works at Rock walk, These guys are just incredible, working at such mind blowing heights in such a professional and skilled manor. We spoke to a member of Devon tree services staff who explained what was happening and how the project was progressing, He put our minds at ease telling us this is just the first stage in an on going project to restore Rock walk back to its formal glory. How wonderful, and i look forward to being able to walk to the top and enjoy the views of this beautiful historic garden. Well done Devon tree services, and we look forward to using your skilled services in the very near future at our hotel in Paignton.

Can anyone help please, would love to pursue a career in tree's, what training is needed, and where do i start.

Notes about the blog. Updated 08 March 2008

Not much is happening at Rock Work now. All the work clearing the trees has been done. A barrier has been erected to prevent rock falls from reaching the road. Now we wait for the geological survey in May to see what can be done to fix the rocks in place.
After that when work starts again later in the year I will post more photos.
Any news items I come across I will post as they appear in the local paper.

Or you can work through the whole blog to find more detail.

If you left click on a photo you get a larger image.

Each day has the label "Day", click on it and you will miss out the other posts.

Articles from the Herald Express are labelled Herald Express.

And so on.

Please feel free to leave a comment.
