June 2008This is Rock Walk as it looks 3 months after the work to remove the trees was completed. The survey has been carried out and there has been little word from the council other than the repairs might cost a 'bit' more than expected.
No one seems to give a damn about the place now the road has been reopened. Not even the slight Rock Fall last Saturday has created a stir.
Work should start in September when the visitors have gone home.

I expect the councillors are too busy awarding themselves pay rises, spending our money on taxis, flying abroad for no useful business point whatsoever, or buying more shares in barrier-producing companies as the whole seafront seems full of them. Meanwhile the green slime (sorry, seeweed) on the sands continues to slowly but surely gather each day over the past three weeks with no effort being made to clear it; the balloon often just sits there, a huge blot on the landscape unable to fly because of the wind speed despite beautiful sunshine on a lot of days, and the graffitti on the 'curly wurly' bridge remains well over three months later (the Old Maids perch side)despite council employees passing it numerous times each day! I could go on but its pointless. This council does not care a damn. It is all talk, destruction and then no action. Look at the marina walkway opposite Rock Walk by the Princess Theatre, a prime pedestrian area - still barricaded in places some two years later.
